FI Leadership Training: IT Strategy
As management of financial institutions look to grow and extend more impactful services to their clients, they must navigate the complex landscape of new products and services and the evolution towards digital financial inclusion. It can be challenging to both identify and prioritize new innovation and new channels of outreach. At the heart of this is an organization’s IT systems and IT strategy that must effectively support and guide their core operations and allow for them to explore digital currencies, mobile financial services, mobile field operations, and new delivery channels. 7This session, led by James Dailey will help management and operational staff develop a forward-looking IT strategy that helps them cost-effectively grow, invest in new technologies and digital forms of financial inclusion, and responsibly design new products and service. James will facilitate this interactive discussion amongst financial inclusion leaders and leave you with some shared learnings and actionable advice.

User Training: Getting Started with Mifos X
In Part 1 of our training sessions targeted the operational staff and day to day users of the Mifos X software, we'll explore the standard application on top of the Mifos X platfrom, the Community App. This session will cover the overall scope of the Community App and basics of setting up and configuring it to support your office structure, staff permissions, and operational procedures. We'll also focus on client management and the creation of clients as well capturing additional information and documents for KYC purposes.

Technical Training: CQRS in Mifos X
CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) is a design pattern that simply notions the use of different models to read and write information. Applied to an Application it can leverage performance by scaling reads and writes independently. This session highlights the benefits of CQRS applied to a cloud-based Core Banking System to deliver financial services at a reasonable cost for all segments of the society. This will be a deeper dive into the platform architecture of Mifos X.

User Training: Accounting
This user training session will follow the natural flow of deploying and configuring Mifos. Once you have your organization and system parameters, configured you will then move into setting up your chart of accounts, configuring your financial mappings for your various portfolio accounts, setting up any accounting rules. This session will cover getting the basic financial accounting infrastructure set up in Mifos, overview of automated portfolio posting for both cash and accrual-based accounting, performing manual journal entries and configuring accounting rules, and the basic financial reports that Mifos X generates. This is targeted towards the operational staff at an MFI or partners who are looking to learn the basics of accounting Mifos X.

Partner Training: Reports Development
This training session is geared towards deployment partners or IT staff at the financial institution that are looking to build custom reports. This session provide an overview of the Mifos X data model and tutorials on how to build custom reports using our screen-based stretchy reporting module as well as more complex and formatted reports using the Pentaho Report Designer. Attendees should have familiarity with SQL.

User Training: Loans
In Part 3 of our training sessions, we'll continue from Session 1 and go into the loans module and cover the creation and configuration of loan products and all the different parameters, opening and editing of new loan accounts, processing repayments and disbursements on loan accounts, guarantor and risk management tools, and an overview of the reports related to loan accounts and aging of the portfolio.

User Training: Deposit Products
In our fourth user training session, we will explore deposit and savings products in Mifos X including the creation and configuration of new products, opening of new accounts, and conducting deposits and withdrawals, along with the basic reports related to deposit products. This session will cover basic passbook savings accounts, recurring and fixed deposits, current accounts, and standing instructions.
