Mifos Board and Leadership will outline our vision for the next 5 years and where we're heading as we grow the Mifos X platform and community. This session will explore the trajectory of our partner program, our strategic initiative, the direction of the product, and the long-term vision for our platform.
IBM will present on its commitment to open source technologies, detail out its partnership with the Mifos community, and outline the benefts of scaling Mifos X on the IBM Power Linux Platform.
Musoni Services will lead a business-level case study documenting their experiences building and bringing to market their own unique solution, the Musoni System, on top of the Mifos X platform. The Musoni Services team, seeking to replicate their award-winning best-practice cashless and paperless microfinance model, built and maintains their own proprietary application on the Mifos X platform while contributing back features and innovation to the core community platform. They've successfully sold and implemented their solution to fifteen financial institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their story is a remarkable one and the perfect case study for the innovative and viable business models that can be achieved as a platform solution partner on the Mifos X platform.
The Musoni System helps MFIs to leverage the latest technologies sweeping across Africa, but at a fraction of the cost associated with traditional banking systems. The system is cloud-based, removing hosting costs while maintaining the high security and flexibility required in microfinance software. We have a flexible pricing structure, based upon the size of the MFI, enabling MFIs to use the platform regardless of their size.
We know that gettting Mifos X up and running quickly is of great importance. Terence Monteiro has packaged up Mifos X as Debian package allowing you to get a Debian/Ubuntu build up and running in mere minutes. He'll go over how to deploy the Debian package and how he went about building it - a great session for anybody looking to become more proficient in Mifos X Dev Ops

One of the major focuses for the initiative in 2015 is to broaden the platform and the operational toos available in the community to fully support the global financial cooperative sector. There are tens of thousands of financial cooperatives or savings-led organizations of all forms - SACCOs, Credit Unions, cooperatives, credit societies, ROSCAs, ASCAs, etc that represent a huge market segment that can be a part of the Mifos community. This session will build off the ongoing work that's been done to fully identify the remaining requirements and needs to fully support cooperatives so we can continue adding support for these must-have features such as teller cash management, shares, dividends, etc. This interactive discussion and exploratory session will be led by Dayna Harp, the Mifos Director of Strategic Initiatives, who brings extensive expertise from the US credit union sector including serving as CEO of the White House Federal Credit Union.
Our existing Android client provides support for the core operations that need to be done in the field. Help us explore the other processes and procedures that can be enabled via the smartphone. We already have an extensive list of features and requirements from offline to biometrics to GIS capabilities that we're exploring for Phase 2 of our Android mobile client development.
Just like we've done in our first online partner roundtables, we'll continue the collective discussion on your experiences as a partner with pricing, business development, sales, deployment, and support strategies in the field. By sharing your challenges and best practices, we'll collectively come to a set of best practices and tools of the trade for business developent for Mifos X partners.
This session will cover basic setup of Mifos in a cloud or on-site environment, network configuration as well as using our community data migration tools to get data in.
