Access to Energy through Digital Finance
CGAP notes that globally 1.3B+ people lack access to electricity & another 1B have unreliable connections. They are forced to turn to expensive, unhealthy alternatives which decrease purchasing power, damage health, & cause severe harm to the environment. Already on the market are numerous solar technologies to meet these clean energy needs. However, affordability is an issue - clients can’t purchases these devices outright and solar companies lack a viable financing model.

Coupling these solar technologies with digital finance, a new class of clean energy companies has emerged providing solutions on a rent-to-own or energy-as-a-service via a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) transaction model. James Dailey, former CTO and co-founder of MicroEnergy Credits will share his expert knowledge on PAYG and Clean Energy business models and steward a discussion on what the community is currently doing in the space. We're eager to get adoption and continued development of our PayGoSol module.
